SwissCenter applies restrictions on the maximum size of email boxes depending on the type of service. These limits concern both the individual size per box and the total space allocatable for the hosting. The maximum size of a message, attachments included, is given at the end of this article.
In short: an email box is limited to 1 GB on "Home" hosting or Exchange "Start", and 10 GB on Exchange "Pro"; on "Business" and "Reseller", only the available space limits it. An email never exceeds 100 MB, and we advise against more than 10 MB.

What are the limits of "Home" type hosting?
- The maximum size is 1 GB per email box.
- The maximum email space, allocatable to boxes, for the hosting is 15 GB.
What are the limits of "Business" type hosting?
The maximum size is not limited per email box: you define the quota for each box based on the available disk space. However:
- For performance reasons, we recommend not exceeding 5 to 8 GB per email box to avoid synchronization issues, especially if you use the same box for multiple people.
- It is strongly recommended to classify emails into folders and not exceed 1000 items per folder to avoid performance and synchronization issues.
- The maximum email space, allocatable to the account's boxes, for the hosting is 50 GB, with the possibility of ordering additional space.
Hosting services for resellers, web agencies, webmasters, etc.
"Reseller Start" type hosting
- The maximum size of email boxes is limited only by the available email space.
- The maximum email space, allocatable to client accounts, is 15 GB.
"Reseller Pro" type hosting
- The maximum size of email boxes is limited only by the available email space.
- The maximum email space, allocatable to client accounts, is 30 GB, with the possibility of ordering additional email space.

- The size of each email box is 1 GB.
Exchange "Pro" services
- The size of each email box is 10 GB, with the possibility of ordering additional email space.
It is possible to mix both types of Exchange boxes within the same domain.
What is the maximum size of a message?
In all cases (Exchange and shared hosting), the maximum size of an email is 100 MB. However, we strongly advise against exceeding 10 MB, as most email providers on the internet reject messages above this size, and very large emails take time to send or receive, which can corrupt attached files.
