The zone export gives you, in a single text file, all the DNS records of your domain as our name servers publish them. It is useful for keeping a copy before a change, for documenting your setup, or for copying it to another provider.
Prerequisites
- Access to your Apanel console
- A domain whose DNS zone is managed at SwissCenter (the DNS manager must be available for this domain)
What to know before you start
- The export is read directly from our name servers, not from the list shown on screen. If the DNS manager warns that the configuration is not synchronized with the DNS servers, the file reflects what the servers actually publish, that is, the state before synchronization.
- The file is downloaded in a new browser tab. If your browser blocks pop-ups, allow them for the Apanel console.
Export the zone
-
Log in to your Apanel console, then open your domain to reach Hosting management.
-
In the DNS service card, click DNS manager:

- In the Records for the zone box, click Tools, then Export zone:

- Your browser downloads a text file. Its name is the domain name with an underscore in place of each dot: for
votresite.ch, the file is called votresite_ch.txt.
Reading the file
The file is plain text that you can open with any editor. It starts with the zone's SOA record (primary name server, contact address, serial number and timers), followed by each record on one line: name, time to live (TTL), class IN, type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, etc.) and content.
votresite.ch. 86400 IN SOA ns1.swisscenter.com. dom-reg.swisslink.ch. (
2026092801 ; serial
14400 ; refresh (4 hours)
...
autoconfig.votresite.ch. 3600 IN CNAME automx.swisscenter.com.
If your domain's zone is signed with DNSSEC, the file also contains RRSIG and NSEC lines: these are signatures, not records you created. You can ignore them if you copy the zone elsewhere.
